Phillip Short
Phillip trained at LSMT at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London (Distinction Diploma in Musical Theatre). He has extensive experience of the performing arts, as a performer, director, head of music, vocal coach, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer. Phillip’s theatre and television credits include: One Step Beyond (National Tour); Pinocchio (National Tour); Brighton Cares (Brighton Centre); Elegies (Bridewell Theatre, London & Komedia Theatre, Brighton); The Spy Next Door (Sky One). His directing credits include: Star For A Night (Harlequin Theatre, Redhill) and his recording credits include: Limehouse Nights (Warner/Chappell); Moby Dick (Warner Chappell). As a singer/songwriter, Phillip’s works have been performed on television and radio and at Her Majesty’s Theatre (West End) and his composing credits include: Hotel S.A.L.I.G.I.A. (Bloomsbury Theatre, West End & Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre, West End); Secrets (Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre, West End & Leicester Square Theatre, West End). He has also been a vocal coach for Diablo Records and a Head of Music in mainstream education. Phillip firmly believes that training in Musical Theatre is the most effective way of combining the three main disciplines of dance, drama and singing, to produce highly-skilled, versatile performers, able to cope with the ever-increasing demands of the profession.
